This is how my stomach feels right about now. It's nothing knocking me off my feet, but it's enough to make me feel like...ugh. Ew, Pass the saltine's please!!!!!
I would not trade this for anything that is for sure. However, I just wish the general feeling of NOTHING sounding good to me food-wise except for JUNK would go away. Last night nothing was satisfying me in the way of heathy foods. Nope, the only thing that made me feel better was a hamburger and fries from Hardee's (Carl's Jr to those of you in CA). While I love a good hamburger and fries, I know this constant need for fast food is not good for me. Last weekend it was Mc Donald's. This morning.....nacho's from Taco Bell. I can't wait for lunch. Will this madness ever end???
I am also irritated with the fact that no matter what i make at home for dinner, none of it sounds good to me by the time I finish cooking it. I know this will go away in a matter of months, but I love to eat food. I love to cook it. I love making dinner for Derek and I and savoring every bite. Lol ok THAT sounded corny, but you get the idea, right????
So far, here is the list of things currently grossing me out:
Mayonaise (which sucks cause normally I like it and egg salad sounds good right about now)
Japanese foodChinese foodTurkey (Gosh dang it I LOVE turkey)anything with a creamy-ish saucebroccoli
What does sound good?Taco Bell nachosMashed potatoesfrench friespotatoes o'brien
There are other things, but OMG....I just want to go back to loving and wanting to eat EVERYTHING again. I also want candy, which I gave up for Lent!!!! :)
Ok....I'm done whining.

oh...WOW!!!!!
Monday night I was talking to Derek about how I had not received a visit from a certain "monthy visitor". It caused concern because I am pretty regular. Ok, concern is a harsh word. But I was thinking, "hmmmmm". So after talking to Patti about when I should break down and take a test, we decided that Tuesday morning would be the day.
When I woke up around 7:30am I was nervous to go downstairs. I had convinced myself at this point that I was wishing too hard for a little one. Derek was awake at that time and I wanted to wait until he had fallen back to sleep before slipping downstairs. I wanted this to be something I did on my own without my excited husband waiting to watch the result pop up. Does that sound selfish? I hope not. I was so nervous as it was because I didn't want to see a negative result and be disappointed.
About 7:55-ish or so I went downstairs, took out the yest and began to open it (I was SHAKING like a leaf), took the test and waited. I actually was staring at it and decided to divert my attention and play with Pele who had followed me down and stuck her paw under the door. After what seemed like only 5 seconds I turned around to look at the test, and this is what I saw

"HOLY SH____" Mind you, I said it in excitement and shock. I have had so many dreams about being pregnant, and so many friends telling me "We're having a baby", and to actually SEE that word on a test, was just unbelievably awesome. I ran upstairs telling Derek "Wake up, it's 8 o"clock." He mumbled "No, not till 8:30." I told him to put his glasses on, he said why? I showed him the test he said "YAAAAYYYYY". The rest of the day is a blur of phone calls and excitement. And Panera for lunch.
So, here we are embarking on a new chapter in our lives. I'm going to be a mom!!! Unreal. After praying for this little baby, I can't believe that in 35 weeks or so, I will be holding him/her in my arms for the first time!!!!!
I'm going to be a mom....me. I have a tiny life growing inside of me. WOW!!!!! Amazing, awesome.
God is good.

Shopping spree
Thanks to my wonderful mother in law, I was able to go to Kohl's today and spend an obscene amount of money (read: $153) on some clothes for my summer wardrobe. After 2 hours of shopping (and 4 trips to the dressing room), I came home with This top , to go with pants that SORT of look like this , I also got these . To go with that I picked this top in red and white (also got it in moonstone for another pair of pants I also got a tank to go under the first top (it's cut lower and I don't think it's acceptable for work), and a cute pair of boots. Plus a new pair of badly needed jeans. I'm pretty pleased with what I got. I am looking forward to taking all the above items to NY.
Oh, did I mention we're going to NY?? Yep, we are!!!!

This is my birthday song
It isn't very long!!!!!
I am 33 years old today. It's young, but feels old. Especially when kids in my youth group do not know who Bon Jovi is.
At any rate we started celebrating Sat. Went to Cheesecake factory!!! Muy delicioso. And I got my bday gift on Sunday, ok, ok we ordered it. Hopefully it will get here today (I HOPE, doubtful though) or tomorrow. Or Thurs. HURRY AND GET HERE!!!! It's a digital SLR. It's official, I'm spoiled. Worth it though. But spoiled.
it's also the bday of one of my youth, so I am going to go to the school today, drop in while they are having lunch, and just have a good time. Going to Yum Yum's (hot dog place in GSO) later today...wOOt. They are not as good as Zack's so I'll likely just get ice cream. Mmmm, ice cream.
ICE CREAM!!! We got an ice cream maker last night wOOt!!!!!!! We also got cat nail clippers!!! Rooney was mad at me to say the least.

Where will you be when your laxative kicks in?
I know you are probably thinking "Oh Lord, is Katie constipated?" No, but the above phrase was SCREAMED OUT numerous times by 3 of my youth as we walked around a Greensboro shopping center yesterday afternoon. The 3 of us had met up for lunch at Panda Inn, and decided to go to the pet store. As we were walking from the restaurant to the store, E just blurted out "WHERE WILL YOU BE WHEN YOUR LAXATIVE KICKS IN?" Seriously I was laughing . I love the randomness that is my youth.
They can make me laugh, cry and angry all in one week. The anger is not something that happens alot. Mostly it's the laughter. The crying, well that comes with the proud moments. I almost cried when the 6th graders were sharing on Friday (this was BEFORE I made one of them throw up. I love y kids so dang much, it's unbelievable!!!!
From there I tool E,A and S to CVS to get hair dye for A's hair. He owes me $4. he feels bad about it. He owes everyone money. He should start paying up. Get a JOB....j/k. After I dropped them off, I went to church to get ready for youth group. 3 hours later, we were just laughng and having a good time playing pictionary. I went with a game theme because I've been so heavy on the topics with them lately, but I think it's really good for them. Gives them a chance to really look inside themselves. Not a bad thing at that age (High School)
Went to Mass with A, S, and E and towards the end right before communion, E starts singing "When you wish upon a Star" to me. I was like "OMG BE QUIET, THAT LADY IN FRONT OF US IS GETTING PISSED!!" She probably thought I was the worlds worst mom letting my kids act like the spawn of Satan during Mass. Luckily she said nothing to me.
I love my kids.

Shopping!!!!
D and I decided to venture out to Northgate Mall today. Not one of our favorite malls, but they did have a Dress Barn (which had my sizes) and Macy's had a great sale going on.
D has been in the market for a new suit and today he hit the jackpot. New jacket (originally priced at $325) on sale for $39.99 Pants (orig price $60) sale price $39.99. We were beside ourself with excitement. he picked out the jacket, I chose the pants. He can use this one for church. And he looks good
(Shirt, he picked out, tie I bought him for Christmas...it's Mickey. So this ensemble was quite the collaboration)

I love how handsome he looks in this picture. Our friend Jason said "Oh look, it's Atlas boy in Clark Kent Mode. (Atlas boy is a nickname I gae Derek on our honeymoon, and Jason did a great "caricature" of him when we were getting ready for our PA trip)
I too, got some nice clothes:
My totally 80's outfit

The dress for confirmation this year. Love this dress

and the awesome top with 2 different pairs pants. First is the short gaucho-ish pants, then the long (read: too big, needs alterations) pants

Yep, we're retail whores!!!!
