Dinner, VMK and a movie

Dinner tonight consisted of steak cooked ALMOST to perfection. By that I mean, had I taken it out of the broiler maybe a minute sooner. Ah well, it was still good. Peas and garlic mashed potatoes. Follow this up with a quick jaunt on a Beta tester for VMK- Virtual Magic kingdom. I have linked Derek and Todd to it and am anxiously awaiting to figure out what all I can do with this. Basically it's an online game where you find clues and hidden Mickey's and play games and such to earn points. It all takes place in Disneyland. You can ride the monorail, shoot pirate ships (aye matey's), make a fireworks show etc. It's fun. Addicting. I'm curious to know what the real thing will be like. Probably uber expensive, no doubt. It's only open from 7am-10pm PST which means that whilst I am working...peak operating hours. UGH!!!! Maybe I can get Derek into it. I have found some hidden Mickey's thanks in part to the help of Mice Chatters and yes I found 2 on my own. :) Thank you very much. Ah, what a life I lead. Hopefully I don't get TOO addicted. At least when I tell my character to move on this game she MOVES. Unlike those pesky Sims.

Derek and I decided to do a movie tonight. We rented Sideways. This movie was very out there, with definitely some funny parts, but some parts that made me feel uncomfortable. The dude is getting married and he's sleeping with any chick that will pay him attention... and he still gets married at the end!!! And LIES to his fiance about how he broke his nose!!! SICK!!!! I'm not one for sex scenes at all in movies. What the heck is the point? His friend in the movie is a wine conesuer (sp) but also deals with Depression and anxiety and takes Xanax. Talk about a blast from my past. Some scenes were a bit hard to stomach as they filled my mind with painful memories of the not so distant past. On one hand, it made my stomach hurt and on the other, it made me greatful for the wonderful man I have in Derek. Sure, he'll have a drink or two....RARELY!!! Sure, he'll get upset....um...(Derek? Upset? Irrate over Soccer? Stupid drivers? FORUMITES???? NEVER!!!)over dumb stuff thank GOD!!!! But I can at least put him in his place when need be and not worry he's going to pop off and verbally abuse me. I digress. I was not pleased with the ending of the movie. If you could call it that...UGH!!!!

All in all a great night with my love. I love you Derek!!!! MUAH!!! YOU RULE!!!! Isn't love grand???

He likes her!!! He REALLY Likes her!!!

Derek will not admit to it but he DOES like Cordelia. The evidence is Here

There's no denying it now!!!! He likes her HE REALLY LIKES HER!!!! If you would like to see more photo's of this gorgeous kitten then feel free to do so!!!

I'm seeing a pattern here

Plane ticket...check

Babysitter for the cats...check

sore throat and cough...chrck.

It's happened yet again. I plan a trip to see Derek and I get sick. I have been taking vitamin C an have discovered the wonders of Zicam, but still. I got sick in Nov before going to see him. Now I cough and cough. I know it is because I have been running around like a mad woman and not sleeping well and what not. It's annoying as all heck. I stayed home from work to sleep again. I promised my co workers I would not go to Disneyland!!! LOL Derek suggested I go rent Star Wars, but that would mean I'd have to get dressed. I'm not in the mood. LOL It's hot today too, so yea.

I have discovered Virtual Magic Kingdom which I am really crappy at figuring out. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it.....i.e. I'm sure I will be addicted!!!! LOL

Wish me luck in my quest to feel better and in my quest to conquer VMK

The weekend Ahead

Tonight I will take 8 of my youth on retreat. It is not an overnighter. But it is 3 days. We will drive there Fri, leave, comeback Sat, leave, comeback Sun. Fun times. This retreat is going to be awesome and we will take it back to St. Lorenzo and put it on for our youth there. I pray I have not gotten them so worked up that they don't have as much fun as I hope they will. I pray that I will absorb everything I need to absorb to bring this to our church (I asked to assist the Directors but they put me in a small group). I pray I get my letters done. Please pray for my group!!!!

I feel terrible because on Saturday I will be gone for a long time and Cordelia will be in the bathroom all day. I wish I could leave her out of the bathroom. Even though Latte and Marley have been adjusting VERY WELL to her the last few days, i am nervous that she will try to play with them and they will get a little too rough. This morning she was under the comforter playing and Latte darn near pounced on her. Then while I was getting my mail bag and candle ready for this weekend, I stepped on her. Poor baby!!!!

Sunday after all the kids are gone, I will be heading to Disneyland to meet up with my brother in law Mike. He will eb there all day I will meet up with him to watch fireworks. It will be great to see him.

Derek, I suspect will see Star Wars this weekend while I am gone. We will not talk as much as we are used to talking to one another and I feel sad about that!!! I can't wait to see him in 2 weeks and I can't wait to go to Carowinds and play with his nieces!!!!! I get to hear him preach on the Sunday that I am there. That will be awesome but also odd. Only because I have heard him do it but never seen it. It will be like "Wow that's my baby up there". I've made him promise not to mention me cause I'd get all embarassed. I feeling anxious to go. I just want to see him.

I'm feeling ansty this morning/afternoon about the retreat about the upcming summer and about the new Pastor coming. I need to be still...know that he is God and that it's all in his hands. I need this retreat as much as my kids do. More than anything I need to listen!!!!

What's in a name?

I am happy to report that the kitten has a name!!!!!

Cordelia!!!!

Many of us have a reason why we are named the name we are. Cordelia has 4 , yes, 4 reasons:

1. She has this thing about climbing through the wires/cords behind the computer...CORDelia. When I told her I was going to call her that she came RUNNING to me. Derek and I have been calling her Cordy.

2. Cordeila means jewel of the sea "Celtic"ally speaking. (Thanks Amy for finding that out. You are one cool Aunt)

3. I got her on Friday the 13th. Cordelia, for all you Buffy fans was a character on the show. Fitting, no?

4. In Disney's "The Happiest Millionaire" the mother and daughter are both named Cordelia and the daughter's nickname is Cordy. (Thanks to Lisa aka Not Afraid from MiceChat for giving me my Disney connection to her name.

So, there you have it. She is named, she is happy and currently sleeping on my lap. Though I am sure she will be woken soon because I have to get ready for work. She is so much fun and has had some spills from the computer desk already. Poor thing. Marley seems to be doing well with her. He got excited this morning and wanted to play with her. I had to tell hm to be gentle with her. He's like bigfoot next to her. Latte is still under the bed most of the time, but will spend long periods of time out in the living room watching her. She's adamant about licking my face when she is tired. I'll post pics soon. I need to get to work.

A new family member

I've been contemplating adopting a full grown cat vs a kitten. I've been thinking, "Do I really want a 3rd cat?" Well yes, of course I do. I looked a few weeks ago at a cat online who was born with no eyes. I wanted her badly. But when I called she had been adopted. Then I started looking at older cats and saw some kittens. The lady from cats in need tried to tell me that Latte and Marley would do better with an older cat and she suggested Cicero. Cicero is a polydactyl cat with a total of 26 toes. 7 on each paw in the front and 6 on each in the back. I went to see him Sunday and while he was very sweet and what not, I just knew he would not be a good fit with the boys. So I met a MiceChat person on May 5th who works at a groomers, who happened to have some kittens. I went to look yesterday and fell in love with this one:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

She's very sweet, has a few earmites (but we're going to the vet soon and cleaning her ears with alcohol in the mean time) cuddly, and VERY fast. She's a talker and a purr machine.

Latte and Marley have has hissfest 2005 and are still very unsure of her. Thankfully she is litterbox trained...however...she remains nameless at this point. Am I crazy for getting another cat? Yea, probably but she's really cute!!!!

To see more pictures go to photobucket and type in Disneykat (under go to album) her pic are under "new kitten"

On to May 5!!!!!

May 5th started out with threatening rain. I had been out late the night before and figured I would sleep in and get to the park later at least to see the fireworks. Well, after talking to some friends, I decided to head out there at 11:30am. When I arrived I immediatley checked out what they had done to the Castle. I must say MOST IMPRESSIVE:

There are 5 crowns atop the castle representing a different Decade of Disneyland's history:

Opening Day Disneyland Crown:

Main St. Electrical Parade (top) and Tomorrowland '68 (bottom) crowns:

Indiana Jones Crown:

50th Anniversary Tinkerbelle/Fireworks Crown:

I must applaud TDA (Team Disney Anaheim) for great work. One of the other great touches added to the park is golden lampposts down Main St. Here is a picture of what they look like at the top:

Mind you I'm not a fan of the flower bucket, because I think they could have done something a little better. I think under the time constraints this is what they came up with. I LOVE Tink though. It's a great touch!!!!

After many years of not seeing my favorite Disneyland Cast Member, Maynard, I was priviledged to see him on the 5th AND get him to take a picture with Bjorn and Karol"

and in true Maynard fashion, he posed for my camera:

But the highlight of my day (aside from viewing the SPECATACULAT fireworks show which is worth the $50+ to get in and the 2 hour wait on Main St, for a good seat in front of the castle) was riding the golden storybook land boat with the group of 12 I was with and riding on top of the boat which is generally reserved for kids and Cast Members:

Now THAT is what I call fun!!!! Well that's about it from my end. As more pictures become available. I'll be sure to post them

A week late, but here's Disneyland info

I went to Disneyland 2 days in a row!!!! Am I nuts? Probably, but I had sooooo much fun!!!

May 4:
Thanks to traffic I was an hour late meeting my ticket at the tram station. Ok it was my friend who had the tickets, who so kindly gave me one. After apologizing profusely we headed off to the park, via tram. As we entered the gates we got a good look at the new mickey floral:

I've, of course, always been partial to the Mickey face, but this is very bright, very inviting and I really like the change!!!!! Very eye catching.

Parade of dreams was going down Main St and we decided to bypass it to get pictures around the park of the 50 "hidden Golden Mickey's" :

The teacups "50"

as well as the Haunted Mansion "50"

One of the highlights of the day was riding on the improved Jungle cruise with, yes you guesses it:

PIRANA'S:

Needless to say ...I got a bit wet. Throughout the day they had "reveals" of the golden ride vehicles. All of the rides that opened along with the par have received special gold painted ride vehicles: Jungle cruise, Dumbo, King Arthur's Carousel, Storybookland, Autopia, Peter Pan's flight, Mr. Toad, Teacups and Casey Jr., horseless carriages (I think I got them all). In addition to those reveals they had the grand opening of the Opera House with a special exhibit honoring Disneyland, the first 50 Years. (This has temporarily replaced Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln) This has tons of Disneyland memorabilia and a movie starring Donald Duck and Steve Martin:

Steve was on hand to open the new exhibit. You can see him (barely) under the video camera that is in front of me in this pic:

Then it was off to The Buzz Lightyear astro orbiter ceremony where we saw everyone's "favorite guy":

Michael Eisner :(

and then the big one:

TIM ALLEN!!!

After a fun filled day we left the park for the celebrities (cause they couldn't very well mingle with us muggles) and headed home (after a meet up with friends at Uva)
